Can You Have 2-Ring Doorbells At Different Locations?

As someone with a large home with two exterior doors, I was reluctant to install Ring Doorbell. Practically, the idea wasn’t feasible as I thought I could make only one account on the Ring app, while you need two accounts for two Ring Doorbells.

The confusion was solved by Mr. Peterson, my coworker at the office, as he said I could set up multiple Ring Doorbells on one account. Well, that also made me buy a third Ring Doorbell for our backdoor. Setting up Ring Doorbell is a breeze, and I will explain how you can set up 2 Ring Doorbells at different locations.

Can You Have 2-Ring Doorbells At Different Locations?

Yes, you can use 2 or more Ring Doorbells at different locations with only one account after signing up on the Ring app. Ring app has a location function that allows you to set up Ring Doorbells based on their locations.

Benefits of Having 2-Ring Doorbells At Different Locations

The sole reason for Ring Doorbells is to provide security, and Ring Doorbells excel at that. And an extra Ring Doorbell means an added layer of security.

Some of the benefits of 2 Ring Doorbells at different locations are the following:

Convenience

If you have a home with multiple doors, multiple Ring Doorbells are a convenient option. Interestingly, with 2 Ring doorbells, you can set different chimes for Ring and Motion alerts. So, with a different chime, you can see who’s at the door on the Ring app, so you don’t end up at the wrong door.

Security

Ring app allows you to see who’s at the door. For that, you don’t have to set up different accounts. All you do is tap on the notification, automatically giving you a LiveView of the door. You can also tap on the Devices on the Ring app and select a specific doorbell for which you want to see LiveView.

Communicate Remotely

Ring App allows you to communicate remotely and separately, just like LiveView. Once you know if someone is at the front door, you can select the front door Ring Doorbell and communicate without getting up, and the same holds for other Ring Doorbells on the Ring app.

Alternate Options

For a smart approach, consider installing both a wired Ring doorbell and a battery-powered Ring doorbell. This way, you’ll have the convenience of the wired option and the added security backup of the battery-powered one in case of any power issues.

Watch Out For The Intruder

If you are away from home and some intruder tries to steal your Ring Doorbell, you can always rely on a second Ring Doorbell for Video Recording as evidence.

Also, two or more Ring Doorbells will keep intruders at bay as they always fear an extra layer of security. Who knows, you might have installed a third Ring Doorbell as well!
